I recently subscribed to Monique's Life True Colours. Just in time! I would say :) Because she had started again on her BOPA and the way she was binding each page was perfect for my own journal. I thought to myself "AHA! Finally!" However, Monique didn't go into details (in her BOPA) videos about how she started this binding, so I did some research and came to the video by Karin Bartimole where she explains in detail how to do this, to start and finish it off as well, which was just what I needed.
I chose my thread (natural fiber), followed the instructions, and was very satisfied with the results.
I have to admit though, that the rope/thread I had chosen was a bit too thick and rough for my pages. You'll notice that the Z page was damaged by the rope but I fixed that by stapling the torn part and just continuing.
The nice thing with this method is that if I don't like it, after I had finished everything. I can always go and change that. That is because nothing is glued!
Supplies used:
- Hole puncher (also used for leather)
- Binding rope (Bindtouw in NL)
